I&C Design Engineer

About the role

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking an I&C Design Engineer to join its Design team in Athens. You will contribute to the conceptual, basic, and detailed design of power plants and industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer specifications for conceptual, basic, and detailed design of power plants and industrial facilities.
• Prepare and review Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, system and functional descriptions, control diagrams, and I/O lists.
• Develop technical specifications and datasheets for control valves, rotating equipment, package plants, and instrumentation.
• Coordinate with DCS/PLC/ESD vendors to ensure proper system integration.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and design review meetings.
• Provide process input to procurement and construction teams and support site activities as needed.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in power, oil & gas, or related sectors.
• Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (IEC, ISA, API, ISO).
• Experience in functional safety (e.g., IEC 61511).
