Cyber Security Engineer (Palo Alto)

About the role

Obrela is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with strong firewall and networking expertise to design, deploy and maintain advanced security solutions for enterprise customers. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to embed security controls across on‑premises, virtual and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and maintain next‑generation firewalls (NGFW) in on‑prem, virtual and cloud settings.
• Design, implement and manage the full firewall lifecycle, including policies, VPNs, migrations, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with network, infrastructure, cloud and application teams to integrate security controls into production.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and integration guides.
• Provide technical guidance to customers on network security best practices and platform usage.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience focused on firewalls.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, NAT, VLANs, DNS, VPNs, reverse proxies, load balancers).
• Strong firewalling knowledge, including policy design, traffic inspection and NGFW features.
• Core cybersecurity knowledge of security principles, threats and best practices.
• Experience supporting external customers and strong analytical/troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Greek.

• Palo Alto Networks NGFW (PAN‑OS, Panorama)
• TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, NAT, VLANs, DNS
• IPsec/SSL VPN, reverse proxies, load balancers
• Firewall policy design and traffic inspection
• NGFW security features (threat prevention, URL filtering, etc.)
• Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE) – preferred
• Experience with Fortinet, Check Point or Cisco firewalls – optional
• Cloud and hybrid security architectures, virtual firewalls
• SASE/ZTNA concepts and remote‑access technologies
• EDR/XDR platforms such as Palo Alto Cortex XDR, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender
