Cyber Security Engineer – English Fluent

About the role

We are expanding our Information Security team with a Cyber Security Engineer who will lead the deployment and configuration of advanced security tools. The role is based in Athens, Greece and requires fluency in English to support EU‑funded projects and collaborate with interdisciplinary experts.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage AI‑based penetration testing frameworks to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Configure, operate and maintain CTI sharing platforms such as MISP and OpenCTI.
• Implement and optimise NG‑SIEM solutions using ELK stack, Graylog, Wazuh, Grafana, Velociraptor, InfluxDB and Telegraf.
• Deploy and fine‑tune NG‑SOAR platforms including Shuffle, Wazuh, TheHIVE, Cortex and IRIS to streamline incident response.
• Manage behavioral IDS/IPS systems like Snort, Suricata and SecurityOnion.
• Stay current with security standards (STIX 2.1, TAXII) and contribute to technical documentation.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field; MSc or PhD preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on cyber security engineering experience.
• Proven track record in software design and development.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.
• Excellent teamwork, responsiveness, integrity and reliability.
