Backend Software Engineer – Wallet Team

About the role

Join the Wallet Development team in Greece as a Backend Software Engineer. You will help shape a high‑performance, containerised platform that powers loyalty, tournaments and personalised campaigns for Betsson Group customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed backend services using C#/.NET and event‑driven architecture.
• Collaborate with product and commercial teams to turn engagement ideas into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Optimise the microservice ecosystem for performance, reliability and observability.
• Drive containerisation and cloud migration initiatives on AWS, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Participate in architecture discussions and, for senior engineers, lead architectural decisions.
• Write well‑tested code, conduct code reviews and contribute to incident resolution and on‑call rotation.
• Maintain clear technical documentation such as ADRs, runbooks and guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong experience with C# and modern .NET (post‑.NET Core) frameworks.
• Hands‑on knowledge of relational and document databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, Couchbase).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Understanding of unit, integration and performance testing practices.
• Ability to work in an Agile, DevOps‑oriented environment and collaborate across teams.
