Backend Engineer – Java/Spring Boot

About the role

As a Backend Engineer you will design, build and evolve large‑scale, mission‑critical backend platforms that serve a broad customer base and support complex business processes. You will work in a modern engineering environment that leverages microservices, distributed systems, event‑driven architecture and cloud‑native technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of backend services, from analysis and design through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring and production support.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot services and RESTful APIs.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical strategy and architectural decisions in a microservices‑based environment.
• Implement resilient, high‑throughput solutions using relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Work with asynchronous communication, messaging and event‑driven patterns.
• Build reusable components, libraries and engineering practices for long‑term platform evolution.
• Implement automated unit, integration and end‑to‑end testing to ensure software quality.
• Operate in containerised, cloud‑native environments using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD pipelines.
• Enhance observability through logging, metrics, tracing and dashboards.
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, design sessions and code reviews.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers during onboarding and knowledge sharing.
