Arabic Interpreter – Chalkida, Greece

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a qualified Arabic Interpreter to support the "Helios+" project in Chalkida, Greece. The role involves providing interpretation and translation services to facilitate the integration of third‑country nationals into the Greek labour market.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver oral interpretation between Arabic and Greek (and English when required) for meetings, trainings and community events.
• Translate written documents, forms and communication materials from Arabic to Greek and vice‑versa.
• Support the Project Assistant (Operations) and Regional Coordinator in implementing project activities.
• Assist beneficiaries of international and temporary protection with language‑related needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all translation and interpretation tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least one year of relevant work experience.
• University degree from an accredited institution is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to work with national and local authorities and diverse partners.
• Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.

Required skills

• Fluent Arabic (reading, writing, speaking) and proficient Greek.
