Application Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Application Security Engineer to embed security throughout our software development lifecycle. You will work closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure our web applications, APIs, and micro‑services are protected against modern threats.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate security testing (SAST, DAST, SCA) into CI/CD pipelines and support remediation of findings.
• Configure, administer and optimise security platforms such as WAF, API security tools and vulnerability management solutions.
• Assist with application penetration testing, analyse results and coordinate fixes with developers.
• Act as the liaison between external penetration testers and internal development teams.
• Perform risk assessments for web applications, APIs, micro‑services and containerised workloads.
• Support container security, including image scanning and policy enforcement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in application security, cyber security or DevSecOps.
• Strong command of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., GWAPT, GWEB, eWPT, AZ‑500, SC‑200, CEH) are a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAST, DAST, SCA and WAF tools.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management platforms.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, APIs, micro‑services, containers and cloud environments.
• Programming/scripting knowledge (Python, Java, JavaScript, C#).
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, ASVS and application security best practices.
• Experience with container image scanning tools such as Trivy or Clair.
