Yachtmaster Instructor – Sailing School

About the role

Sunsail is looking for an experienced Yachtmaster Instructor to lead its sailing schools in Greece and Croatia during the summer season. You will be responsible for delivering RYA courses, managing the instructional team and ensuring a high‑quality on‑water experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all operational aspects of the sailing school, including delivery of the RYA syllabus and day‑to‑day team coordination.
• Teach RYA courses in line with RYA regulations and company standards.
• Coordinate paperwork, instructor schedules and course materials.
• Drive revenue by promoting courses and maintaining high training standards.
• Ensure yachts are prepared to Sunsail and RYA standards and that all safety and legal documentation is complete.
• Supervise customer feedback, investigate issues and liaise with RYA and other governing bodies.
• Provide mentorship, ongoing training and support to cruising instructors.
• Maintain company policies and SOPs both on shore and at sea.

Required profile

• RYA Yachtmaster Instructor commercially endorsed.
• Proven experience managing a team in a sailing or maritime environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to sailing schools.
• In‑depth understanding of the RYA sailing school syllabus and standards.
• Highly motivated, reliable and able to work flexibly across different resorts.

Required skills

• RYA Yachtmaster Instructor certification.
• Ability to deliver the RYA syllabus and conduct assessments.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation applicable to maritime training.
