Unix / AIX – Linux Systems Engineer

About the role

Kyndryl is seeking a Systems Engineer to configure, maintain, and optimize core AIX and Linux infrastructure that supports mission‑critical enterprise workloads. You will work with cross‑functional teams to resolve system issues, ensure high availability, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, maintain and optimize AIX and Linux environments, ensuring reliability, security and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, including escalated incidents, and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Support change management processes, testing and implementing approved system changes.
• Collaborate with other teams to deliver integrated solutions and document configurations and procedures.

Required profile

• Technical college degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of hands‑on AIX and Linux administration experience.
• Experience with structured processes such as incident, problem, change and inventory management.
• Focus on delivering reliable outcomes for customer environments.

Required skills

• AIX OS, PowerHA, HMC, VIOS.
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux.
• Disaster recovery planning and product maintenance/upgrades.
• Automation tools or scripting for system programming tasks.
• Familiarity with IBM Power platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.
