Systems Engineer

About the role

iNFINITUM is looking for a Systems Engineer who will design, maintain and optimise virtual infrastructure, storage and network environments. The role blends hands‑on troubleshooting with the creation of production‑grade solutions for diverse client projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, configure and maintain virtual machines, compute resources and hypervisors.
• Monitor and manage SAN/NAS storage arrays, perform capacity planning and support VLAN and core network configurations.
• Review and validate scripts, configurations and third‑party solutions for security, accuracy and production readiness.
• Investigate incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Develop and maintain staging environments and testing protocols to safely validate deployments.
• Create comprehensive runbooks, audit trails and operational documentation.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for system architecture and continuous optimisation.
• Deep‑level troubleshooting skills that go beyond graphical interfaces.
• Ability to audit code and assess risk of destructive commands or privilege escalations.
• Solid understanding of Linux and/or Windows Server fundamentals, including processes, permissions and services.
• Fundamental networking knowledge covering DNS, DHCP, subnetting and routing.
