SysOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a SysOps Engineer to join Netcompany’s Systems Management and DevOps Services team in Athens. You will be responsible for operating, supporting and continuously improving complex enterprise environments across on‑premises infrastructure and AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems, including users, packages, storage, services and firewalls.
• Operate and support infrastructure on AWS, on‑premises and virtualised environments.
• Automate configuration, deployments, backups and operational tasks using Ansible and Bash.
• Maintain HAProxy, GitLab, GitLab runners and CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Kubernetes, Helm, Docker and Docker‑Compose workloads.
• Monitor performance with Elasticsearch, Kibana, APM, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Install and maintain MongoDB and MySQL databases, handling backups, SSL/TLS and user privileges.
• Support OpenStack virtual machines, networking, resizing and storage.
• Investigate incidents, improve system reliability and keep technical documentation up to date.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration, SysOps or DevOps.
• Strong Linux administration skills and proficiency with Ansible and Bash scripting.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and on‑premises infrastructure.
• Good understanding of networking, security, backups and high availability.
