Security Specialist – Loss Prevention & Physical Security

About the role

The Security Specialist based at UPS headquarters in Koropi, Greece, is responsible for implementing security processes and procedures across facilities. The role focuses on loss prevention, physical security, employee security issues and supports investigations while analysing claims to identify trends and drive risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify vulnerabilities in facilities and operations and develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, regulatory requirements and corporate security policies.
• Promote a strong safety and compliance culture across the organization.
• Oversee security guard teams/vendors, including scheduling and performance coordination.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and access controls.
• Monitor adherence to security procedures for high‑value shipments and sensitive operations.
• Perform facility, vehicle, and operational audits to ensure compliance with security standards.
• Conduct driver audits to verify adherence to delivery and release procedures.
• Support incident investigations and perform root‑cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Review claims data to identify trends and risk areas, and prepare monthly reports with insights and recommendations.
• Establish and maintain relationships with law‑enforcement authorities and participate in professional security organisations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in loss prevention or a similar role.
• Strong work ethic, proactive attitude and self‑motivation.
• Excellent analytical and independent problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
• Very good MS Office skills.
• Fluency in Greek and English.
