Part‑time Programme Leader – Shipping

About the role

Mediterranean College seeks a part‑time Programme Leader to provide academic leadership, programme management and quality assurance for its Shipping programmes, ensuring high standards and a positive student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for undergraduate and postgraduate shipping programmes.
• Coordinate module delivery, teaching schedules, assessment activities and dissertation supervision.
• Monitor programme performance, student progression and engagement.
• Oversee staff coordination, workload planning and compliance with academic procedures.
• Ensure quality assurance and liaison with the university partner.

Required profile

• PhD in Shipping, Maritime Studies or a closely related field (candidates near completion considered).
• Extensive higher‑education teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Proven experience in programme leadership, administration or academic coordination.
• Strong knowledge of the shipping and maritime sector and related academic disciplines.
• Familiarity with UK higher‑education frameworks, regulations and quality‑assurance processes.
• Excellent organisational, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Active research, scholarly activity and professional development record.
