Middle & High School English Teacher

About the role

Pinewood American International School is seeking a dynamic, experienced Middle & High School English Teacher to join its diverse, student‑centered community for the 2026–2027 academic year. The role involves teaching English Language & Literature, American Literature, World Literature and related courses to students in Grades 6‑12, supporting both native and non‑native speakers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging daily lessons aligned with AERO standards, the MYP framework and AP curricula.
• Prepare original course outlines, instructional materials and learning experiences using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
• Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the needs of diverse learners, including ELL and SEN students.
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate academic records and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with the English Department Chair and fellow teachers to develop curriculum and support school initiatives.

Required profile

• Native English speaker.
• Proven experience teaching middle and/or high school English in an international setting.
• Familiarity with AP or MYP programmes is a strong advantage.
• Commitment to reflective practice, professional growth and collaborative teamwork.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AERO standards.
• Understanding of the MYP framework and AP English curricula.
• Ability to apply UDL principles and differentiated instruction.
• Experience supporting ELL and SEN learners.
