Lead Android Engineer – Remote (EMEA)

About the role

We are looking for a senior/lead Android Engineer with a staff‑level mindset to design and evolve high‑performance Android applications that interact with a decentralized cloud platform. The role is fully remote within EMEA time zones and requires strong architectural judgment, autonomy, and collaboration with backend, infrastructure and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑performance Android apps using Kotlin, following modern Android design principles.
• Architect scalable, maintainable mobile solutions with emphasis on performance, memory and battery efficiency.
• Build intuitive, responsive UIs and integrate them with backend services and distributed systems.
• Ensure efficient data synchronization, offline support and network resilience.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, documentation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Own the full mobile lifecycle from development to Play Store deployment.
• Implement mobile security best practices and secure data handling.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor team members and drive engineering standards.

Required profile

• 5–6+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Android SDK.
• Experience with modern Android architectures such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Deep understanding of Android performance optimisation and lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to integrate RESTful APIs using Coroutines and Flow.
• Experience working in Agile teams and influencing technical direction.
