Laboratory Manager (Geologist)

About the role

TERNA S.A., a company of the GEK TERNA Group, is looking for a Laboratory Manager (Geologist) based in Athens. The role ensures that materials, processes and workmanship comply with project specifications, approved designs, standards and contractual requirements, and coordinates quality documentation, site inspections and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and manage quality documentation, including Material Approval Requests (MARs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for metal structures, concrete works and geomechanics, Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) and Work Inspection Requests (WIRs).
• Coordinate site inspections and quality checks with the laboratory, PMO and construction teams, and verify that site activities follow approved drawings, technical specifications and ITPs.
• Manage quality-related submissions, approvals, revisions and records through Aconex, keeping documents controlled and traceable.
• Monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), follow up on corrective actions and support quality assurance procedures on site.
• Coordinate laboratory and in-situ testing, ensuring frequency, scope and reporting meet project specifications and ITPs, and track test results, certificates, inspection reports and survey reports through Aconex.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Civil Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance/control within construction or engineering projects.
• Excellent knowledge of English, oral and written.
• Strong knowledge of inspection procedures, ITPs and material submittals.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Aconex or similar document management systems.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical specifications and drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organisation, attention to detail, problem-solving and stakeholder coordination.
