Experienced Data Engineer

About the role

As an Experienced Data Engineer you will join PwC’s Data Engineering team in Athens, collaborating with engineers, visualization specialists and business analysts to solve complex problems for clients in Greece and abroad.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with data engineers, visualization specialists, and business analysts to solve complex problems for clients and internal teams.
• Translate business requirements into data‑driven solutions and analyze source data to identify relationships, hierarchies, patterns, and trends.
• Define solution architecture and select appropriate technologies and components.
• Design ETL/ELT workflows using available data platform services and tools.
• Develop and optimise data models and document findings, sharing best practices with colleagues and clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of proven experience in data engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Understanding of complex data flows using tools such as Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Familiarity with modern data tools (dlt, Stitch, dbt, SQLMesh, Airflow, Dagster) and cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure or AWS).
• Experience with large datasets and logical/conceptual data models.
