Energy Engineer – R&D for Energy Software & Power Systems

About the role

We are looking for an R&D Energy Engineer to join our high‑performing team in Athens. The role focuses on designing and delivering innovative energy software solutions and supporting EU‑funded research projects in transmission, distribution and wholesale markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute European Commission projects in information technologies and power‑system engineering.
• Produce comprehensive deliverables, including requirements, conceptual models, specifications, and integration plans.
• Lead research on integrated energy‑sharing platforms, energy protocols, flexibility markets and related services.
• Contribute to the design of products and applications for energy data spaces, communities, storage and digital technologies.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, ICT or Power‑Systems Engineering; MSc or PhD preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience working with technical teams and 2 years in national or European research programmes.
• Proven experience in software design and development.
• Strong knowledge of transmission/distribution networks and energy wholesale markets.
• Fluent in English and Greek, both written and spoken.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.
