Data Security Engineer

About the role

Join PwC's Cyber Security Tech team in Athens as a Data Security Engineer. You will design, implement, and manage Microsoft 365 security solutions that protect user identities, data, and collaboration platforms across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MCAS) to monitor user activity, detect anomalies, and enforce real‑time session controls for SaaS applications.
• Configure Conditional Access policies to provide risk‑based access across users, devices, and applications.
• Develop and maintain security policies for the M365 ecosystem, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
• Manage Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection, sensitivity and retention labels, and eDiscovery policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with compliance, legal, and data‑governance teams to define classification taxonomies and map them to Microsoft Purview controls.
• Optimize the Microsoft 365 E5 security and compliance suite, including Defender XDR, Purview, and Entra ID features.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT or a related field.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on security engineering experience with Microsoft 365 E5 security and compliance features.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Purview, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Conditional Access.
• Experience in data classification, DLP, insider risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Understanding of Zero Trust, identity and access management, and role‑based access control.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus.
