Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager will act as the Owner's Representative on site, overseeing the physical execution of construction works across civil, structural, MEP and finishing disciplines. Working closely with the Project Manager, design consultants, main contractors and client stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day construction activities, serving as the primary liaison with the main contractor and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular site inspections, chair progress and technical coordination meetings, and verify compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Track progress against the approved programme, manage critical‑path activities and report weekly/monthly status to the Project Manager and client.
• Implement the Quality Management Plan, review contractor ITPs and Method Statements, and manage NCRs, punch lists and defect registers.
• Champion a safety‑first culture, ensuring compliance with Greek and EU HSE legislation and performing regular HSE inspections.
• Administer the construction contract on behalf of the client, reviewing claims, variations, RFIs and payment applications.
• Monitor site expenditure against budget, flag cost risks and maintain an auditable instruction and variation log.
• Coordinate handover and commissioning, including as‑built documentation, O&M manuals and final inspections.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in construction or site management, preferably on the owner/consultancy side.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing medium‑to‑large‑scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with Greek building regulations and permitting processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with construction scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project or equivalent).
• Knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions and standard procurement frameworks.
• Strong command of construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
