Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Cube RM is a global Tender Software leader helping Life Sciences organisations turn tender market data into actionable intelligence. We are expanding our engineering team and looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design, build and maintain the data‑driven services that power our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend services and APIs aligned with business needs.
• Develop and operate data pipelines that ingest public tender data from multiple sources and countries, ensuring data quality and normalization.
• Build resilient data‑processing and extraction components, leveraging AI where it adds value.
• Manage, monitor, and optimise relational database operations for high‑volume workflows.
• Work AI‑first using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code while owning software quality.
• Participate in code reviews (including AI‑generated code), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and observability.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root‑cause analysis and deliver lasting fixes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience as a software engineer with solid backend infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience with large datasets and data pipelines, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Strong grasp of C# and modern .NET, and relational databases (SQL) including schema design and query optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience using AI coding assistants or agents in day‑to‑day development.
• Understanding of RESTful API design and clean architecture.
• Familiarity with Azure services (App Services, Service Bus, Functions, Storage) or comparable cloud platform.
