Arabic & French Interpreter

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking a qualified Arabic and French Interpreter to support the "Helios+" project in the South Aegean region. The role involves providing interpretation and cultural mediation services to beneficiaries of international and temporary protection, helping them integrate into Greek society.

Key responsibilities

• Make initial contact with beneficiaries and build a respectful, trust‑based relationship.
• Provide oral interpretation (simultaneous and consecutive) between Arabic and French for meetings, trainings and service delivery.
• Assist with written translation of project documents, informational materials and communication tools.
• Support the Regional Coordinator and Project Assistant in implementing employability, language‑training and social‑cohesion activities.
• Facilitate cultural mediation to ensure clear understanding between beneficiaries and service providers.

Required profile

• Fluency in Arabic and French, both spoken and written.
• Proven experience in interpretation and translation, preferably in humanitarian or migration contexts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Commitment to the values of inclusivity, respect and professionalism promoted by IOM.
