AML / Financial Crime Advisor (Italian)

About the role

A leading outsourcing/BPO company is recruiting an Italian-speaking AML / Financial Crime Advisor for its Athens office, Greece. The position is full-time and on-site, advertised through David Kennedy Recruitment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze AML alerts according to defined priorities, regulatory requirements and client procedures
• Carry out due diligence, identify required supporting documentation and build complete analysis files
• Perform enhanced reviews of AML/CFT and financial risks, and investigate atypical operations and suspicious transaction patterns
• Analyze account statements and transaction activity, and carry out clarification and homonym checks where needed
• Assess alerts against predefined analysis scenarios and procedures, then make well-supported decisions and document the rationale
• Process cases within defined timeframes and quality standards, maintain accurate records and follow compliance procedures
• Work independently while collaborating with the wider team

Required profile

• Native or near-native Italian (C1+) and English at B2 level
• Previous experience in AML, KYC, financial crime, banking or financial services is advantageous
• Good general understanding of financial and banking systems
• Ability to analyze account statements and transaction activity, and to spot atypical transactions and suspicious patterns
• Strong analytical and written communication skills, attention to detail and ability to make objective, well-supported decisions
• Comfortable working with repetitive tasks in a fast-paced, target-driven environment

Required skills

• Knowledge of KYC and AML/CFT principles and practices
• Understanding of atypical transactions and suspicious activity patterns
• Ability to interpret procedures and apply predefined investigation scenarios consistently
• Good computer and general PC skills
