Spacecraft Operator

About the role

Planetek Hellas is looking for a highly capable Spacecraft Operator to join its Satellite Command and Control Centre in Kifisia, Athens. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end operation of the company’s proprietary satellites and their payloads, ensuring mission success for both civilian and defence applications.

Key responsibilities

• Command and control of satellites and payloads, including on‑board anomaly detection and resolution.
• Plan, schedule and execute orbital and attitude manoeuvres.
• Develop, validate and maintain flight and ground‑operations procedures and on‑board control procedures.
• Coordinate with subsystem teams and software developers to investigate and solve anomalies.
• Define user stories and requirements for Flight Operations Segment developers.
• Support ground‑system integration with the space segment and author technical documentation.

Required profile

• University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Aerospace/Space Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of system engineering, orbital and attitude dynamics, and spaceflight operations.
• Experience with AIV processes and shift work, including availability outside normal office hours.
• Excellent command of Greek (native) and English (full professional proficiency).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Familiarity with flight‑dynamics tools such as Orekit and GMAT.
• Understanding of Ground Segment architectures.
• Deep knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in space operations.
