Senior Accountant

About the role

Enearth, a subsidiary of Energean, is expanding its Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) activities and seeks a Senior Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient accounting operations. Reporting to the Head of CCS, the role supports month‑end and year‑end processes and contributes to the financial health of pioneering carbon storage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Review and monitor balance‑sheet reconciliations (bank, intercompany, payroll).
• Analyze financial results and explain variances versus budget and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and statutory reporting obligations.
• Support internal and external audits, preparing documentation and responding to queries.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow planning.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis as needed.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory accounting standards.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end and year‑end closing cycles.
• Experience with tax, VAT, and audit processes.
