Performance Engineer

About the role

Kyklades Maritime is seeking a Performance Engineer to join its Performance department. The role focuses on leveraging high‑frequency sensor data to drive predictive maintenance, benchmark fleet performance and support sustainability initiatives across the company’s vessels.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse high‑frequency sensor data from vessel automation and machinery systems to support predictive maintenance of propulsive and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor data‑quality trends fleet‑wide and recommend improvements to data collection, reporting and validation processes.
• Translate operational data into customised commercial performance reports for chartering, technical and operations teams.
• Establish and maintain performance benchmarks, identify under‑performing vessels, conduct root‑cause analyses and propose corrective actions.
• Review and evaluate energy‑saving devices, decarbonisation solutions and retrofit modifications to meet company sustainability targets.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (MSc or MEng) in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, marine engines, energy systems, ship dynamics or propulsion.
• Proficiency in Greek and English.
• Previous experience in data analytics or machine‑learning tools is a plus.
• Experience in the commercial shipping sector (technical or performance department) is desirable.

Required skills

• Solid programming skills (Python, SQL, Matlab, LabVIEW).
• Advanced use of the MS Office Suite.
