Global Brand Director – Premium Spirits

About the role

The Global Brand Director will lead METAXA’s brand strategy and marketing operations worldwide, driving growth for the iconic Greek spirit. This senior position reports to the Managing Director and oversees a small Athens‑based team, combining strategic vision with hands‑on execution across markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global marketing strategy aligned with brand vision and regional market dynamics.
• Lead the product innovation pipeline, working with R&D, packaging and commercial teams to launch market‑winning products.
• Steward brand positioning and champion consumer engagement initiatives in key European and international markets.
• Consolidate and oversee marketing plans, media campaigns and activations in collaboration with sales, product development and external agencies.
• Manage the marketing budget, measure ROI and optimise spend to maximise brand equity.
• Oversee digital marketing, social media, events and sponsorship programmes.
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity and consumer insights to identify opportunities and risks.
• Prepare and deliver key presentations, including brand reviews and e‑conferences, alongside the Managing Director.
• Guide and develop a three‑person marketing team, fostering creativity and high performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of marketing experience in the spirits or broader beverage industry.
• Pro‑active team player with a growth mindset and strong business acumen.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Innovative, energetic and adaptable, comfortable in a multicultural environment.
• Willingness to travel 5‑6 times per year and attend monthly events.
• Fluent English; French and/or Greek are a plus; WSET certification is advantageous.
