General Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a proactive General Accountant to join our client’s finance team. The role involves handling end‑to‑end accounting processes using SAP and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Record accounting transactions in SAP – General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
• Process electronic payments to suppliers, customers, tax authorities and other third parties.
• Monitor bank accounts, cash balances, petty cash and cheque transactions.
• Handle indemnification payments and communicate with policyholders, brokers and banks.
• Prepare and file tax‑related declarations (IPT, WHT, VAT, Social Security, Freelance tax).
• Reconcile account statements, post GL entries, manage provisions and internal controls.
• Coordinate with banks for access codes, credentials and other banking services.
• Manage legalization and compliance matters with commercial registries and tax authorities.
• Administer contracts, service agreements, lease agreements and related payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Familiarity with SAP accounting modules.
• Knowledge of IFRS is a strong plus.
• Experience with MyData (Greek tax reporting) is a strong plus.
