Senior Accountant

About the role

HERACLES Group, a leading building materials company in Greece, is looking for a dynamic Senior Accountant to join its Finance function at the Head Office. You will be responsible for accurate accounting, month‑end and year‑end closing, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations and reporting.
• Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, provisions and other GL entries.
• Perform GL account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with tax audit documentation and the Group’s annual audit.
• Collaborate with the Shared Services Center and other finance functions to improve processes.
• Contribute to automation initiatives and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax legislation and accounting best practices.
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA or ACA are an asset.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP ERP system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
