Experienced Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Outsourcing Services team in Athens. You will work closely with clients and internal colleagues to deliver high‑quality accounting, bookkeeping, and reporting services while gaining hands‑on experience with Greek GAAP and IFRS.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of accounting and outsourcing services for a diverse client portfolio.
• Collect, review, and process accounting and financial information.
• Assist with year‑end closing procedures and preparation of annual financial statements under Greek GAAP and IFRS.
• Perform bookkeeping activities, account reconciliations, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Apply accounting systems and digital tools to execute financial processes.
• Prepare documentation and schedules for statutory audit requirements.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

Required profile

• BSc in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field (MSc a plus).
• 1‑2 years of experience in an audit or accounting firm.
• CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualifications (completed or in progress) are a plus.
• Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Team player with strong communication and critical‑thinking skills.

Required skills

• Experience with industry‑standard ERP systems, preferably SoftOne.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
