Data Privacy Counsel

About the role

The Data Privacy Counsel will support the Data Privacy team on a wide range of projects, including routine privacy audits, data‑infrastructure risk management, security controls, policies, and research reports. This role reports to the Data Privacy Director and works within a hybrid environment across our offices in Montreal, Austin and Nicosia.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on data privacy regulations and compile relevant documentation to support data protection obligations across multiple countries.
• Develop, implement, and maintain global privacy and data protection policies, notices, controls, and internal procedures.
• Advise internal stakeholders on their obligations under applicable privacy laws, facilitating informed decision‑making.
• Draft and review data processing agreements (DPAs) and perform DPIAs, LIAs, and other compliance monitoring activities.
• Maintain and review records of processing activities (RoPA) and collaborate with information security, product, procurement, and other functions to enhance the privacy program.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in data protection, privacy, or related areas.
• Educational background in Law or a related field (e.g., Information Security, Computer Science).
• In‑depth knowledge of GDPR and emerging European privacy regulations, as well as Canadian and U.S. privacy laws.
• Understanding of technical concepts such as web applications and cloud computing.
• Professional privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPT) are a plus.
