Data Center Operations Manager

About the role

KIEFER is launching a state‑of‑the‑art data centre in Megalopoli to support its AI ecosystem. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to own the facility’s physical infrastructure and guarantee 24/7 uptime, safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of all mechanical, electrical and cooling systems in the data centre.
• Lead a team of on‑site technicians, organise 24/7 shift coverage and foster a safety‑first culture.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, maintenance plans and incident‑response protocols (MOPs, SOPs, EOPs).
• Monitor system performance and capacity, using data‑driven insights to prevent downtime.
• Act as incident commander during emergencies, coordinating rapid resolution.
• Manage relationships with vendors, contractors and local utilities.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in a mission‑critical environment such as a power plant, industrial facility, marine engine room or large‑scale manufacturing.
• Proven track record of leading technical teams and overseeing 24/7 operations.
• Professional proficiency in English; Greek language skills preferred.

Required skills

• Industrial cooling systems – chillers, pumps, piping.
• High‑availability electrical distribution – UPS, generators, switchgear.
