Country Accounting Controller Greece

About the role

The Country Accounting Controller for Greece will act as the finance leader for the Greek legal entities of AkzoNobel, linking operational teams, commercial functions and corporate finance to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Record‑to‑Report (RTR) process and coordinate with business navigators, FP&A, functional controllers and external partners.
• Proactively monitor the quality of the balance sheet and income statement for the assigned legal entities.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, webFEM, local statutory and fiscal requirements.
• Lead month‑end reporting to the region/business unit and develop guidelines for balance‑sheet review.
• Act as the first point of contact for the retained finance organization and for tax compliance matters.
• Lead tax and treasury activities, liaising with government authorities and managing tax filings and audits.
• Coordinate group and fiscal financial audits and maintain relationships with auditors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting and finance leadership.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with Record‑to‑Report processes and statutory reporting.
• Background in tax compliance (direct and indirect) and treasury functions.
• Ability to partner with business units, auditors and cross‑functional stakeholders.
