Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will be based on‑site at Rosewood Blue Palace in Elounda, Crete, leading the finance division and ensuring the integrity of all accounting operations. This senior position supports strategic financial planning, reporting, and compliance for the new hotel opening in April 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage end‑to‑end financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc reports for owners and the executive team.
• Assist the Director of Finance Business Partner with budget preparation, forecasts, and capital expenditure analysis.
• Review and process expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and purchase orders using the hotel’s purchasing software.
• Verify accounts receivable balances, maintain sub‑ledger integrity, and ensure all accounting procedures follow hotel policies.
• Supervise contract and insurance documentation, maintaining up‑to‑date databases.
• Review payroll records for accuracy, including new hires, changes, and overtime approvals.
• Provide leadership continuity during absences of executive committee members or the finance department head.
