Mechanical Design Engineer – Design Engineering Department

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering Department of a leading industrial engineering company in Athens. The role focuses on the design and development of industrial machinery and equipment for turnkey and Engineering‑to‑Order projects, offering a long‑term career path in mechanical design.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models of machinery, components and assemblies.
• Prepare shop drawings and general arrangement layouts.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
• Design practical, manufacturable solutions, applying knowledge of materials, fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements and applicable standards.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Procurement, Production and Installation teams throughout project execution.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to design standardisation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably Siemens Solid Edge and AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of materials, fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills in Greek and English.
• Ability to meet project deadlines.
