Marine Insurance Broker

About the role

Howden Hellas, a leading multinational insurance and reinsurance broker in Greece, is seeking a Marine Insurance Broker to join its Athens office. You will support clients in finding suitable marine insurance solutions to protect vessels, cargo and maritime operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of marine insurance clients, meeting new business and renewal targets.
• Assess client risk exposure, present tailored marine insurance solutions, and support the underwriting process.
• Place new business, negotiate complex marine policies, and prepare broking slips and submissions.
• Maintain strong client relationships through meetings, discussions and trust‑building.
• Update workflow systems, collaborate with sales and other divisions, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Required profile

• BSc in Insurance Science, Economics, Maritime Studies or related field (MSc is a plus).
• More than 5 years of experience in marine insurance or marine risk.
• Excellent English communication and strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and collaborate in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
