Financial Controller

About the role

Volton Hellenic Energy SA is seeking a Financial Controller to join its Athens team. Reporting to the Group Controller, you will support accurate financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting while strengthening internal controls across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Document, monitor and update accounting policies and maintain filing systems.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with national and local legal standards.
• Assist in implementing consistent accounting practices across all departments.
• Maintain internal safeguards for revenue, costs, budgets and expenditures.
• Prepare regular financial status reports and ad‑hoc analyses.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to protect company assets.
• Collaborate with the accounting team on data accuracy and ad‑hoc projects.
• Build risk‑assessment models for investment evaluation.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in accounting, financial controlling, reporting, budgeting or financial analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CFA) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Greek tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial planning.
• Knowledge of risk assessment modeling.
