Voyage Accountant

About the role

The Voyage Accountant is responsible for managing day‑to‑day accounting activities related to vessel voyages, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with statutory requirements. You will work closely with Operations, Treasury, and Commercial teams to support the financial health of each voyage.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting entries, register and filing, and reconcile bank and general ledger accounts.
• Post accounts receivable invoices in IMOS and Navision and manage accounts payable invoices and vendor accounts.
• Handle AR collections, quarterly and year‑end revenue and expense accruals, and voyage P&L analysis.
• Provide oversight of Operations data entry into IMOS and conduct quarterly reconciliations between IMOS and Navision.
• Prepare journal entries for bunker inventory and reconcile inventory statements quarterly.
• Coordinate voyage‑related payables, ensuring approved invoices are processed.
• Prepare voyage analysis, vessel closing, and post invoices to Greek statutory books.
• Support periodic tax and VAT submissions for companies under Law 89/67.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the shipping industry.
• Fluency in English and strong computer literacy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
