About the role

Join the newly opened luxury hotel Conrad Athens The Ilisian as a Sommelier. You will enhance the guest dining experience by providing expert wine service, recommendations, and pairing advice in a vibrant, historic setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Sommelier in curating and maintaining an innovative wine list that aligns with the hotel’s culinary vision.
• Provide exceptional wine service to guests, including recommendations, pairings, and presentations.
• Train restaurant staff on wine offerings, tasting techniques, and service standards.
• Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff and guests.
• Manage inventory, assist with ordering, and ensure proper storage and handling of wines.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new vintages, and emerging regions.
• Support promotional events and wine dinners, presenting featured wines.
• Collaborate with the culinary team on wine pairings for special events and seasonal menus.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role within high‑end restaurants or luxury hotels.
• Strong knowledge of wines, grapes, regions, and food‑pairing principles.
• Excellent communication skills in both Greek and English.
• Passion for hospitality with a guest‑centric approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic dining environment.

Required skills

• WSET Level 2 Certification (preferred).
