Senior Security Engineer – Cyber Defense

About the role

OpenBet is looking for a highly motivated Senior Security Engineer to join its Cyber Defense team. Reporting to the Cyber Defense Senior Security Manager, the role designs, implements, administers, and improves security controls and technologies across cloud and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own the administration, hardening, and optimisation of security tooling such as SIEM, EDR, WAF, DAST/SAST and vulnerability‑management platforms.
• Act as a security advisor for infrastructure, cloud and application changes, promoting security‑by‑design principles.
• Monitor, investigate and lead response to security incidents, performing deep‑dive log and root‑cause analysis.
• Build and maintain SIEM detection use cases, correlation rules and alerting dashboards.
• Coordinate vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, validating remediation with engineering teams.
• Support GRC and audit readiness by validating technical controls and collecting evidence.
• Maintain incident‑response playbooks, runbooks and participate in an on‑call rotation for critical incidents.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 6‑7 years of experience in cybersecurity within fast‑paced, high‑availability environments.
• Expertise in security architecture, Zero Trust principles and cloud security across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Hands‑on experience implementing and customizing security technologies (WAF, NDR, EDR) and infrastructure hardening.
• Proficiency in incident management, root‑cause analysis, digital forensics and penetration‑testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, SOAR, threat intelligence and frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
• Strong project‑management and communication skills to influence global stakeholders.
• Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
