Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the role

Epignosis, a Greek SaaS company behind products such as TalentLMS, eFront, TalentCards and TalentHR, is looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join its Quality Platform team. You will help build, maintain and evolve the shared automation framework used across the product teams, design and run automated tests, and work with QA peers and engineering teams to raise quality standards. Manual and exploratory testing is also part of the role when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product, AI, architecture and frontend teams to define test scope and align automation coverage with release goals.
• Work with QA chapter members to keep the shared framework consistent, reusable and high quality, including step definitions, naming conventions and scenario patterns.
• Prioritise automation work with team and chapter leads based on risk, release timelines and coverage gaps.
• Contribute to the evolution of the shared Cypress tool, adding API coverage, reusable step libraries and AI-assisted test design and operations.
• Write well-structured, maintainable test scripts, run them in CI/CD pipelines and analyse failures to distinguish real defects from flaky tests or environment issues.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing when necessary and keep up with emerging practices such as AI-augmented testing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience with web and API test automation.
• Solid grounding in QA methodologies and test design techniques.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail across large test suites.
• Familiarity with shift-left and agile testing, and interest in AI-augmented testing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more languages such as JavaScript (preferred), Python, PHP or Java.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Cypress (preferred), Playwright and Cucumber.
• Nice to have: BSc in a related field, Postman/Swagger, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, GitHub Actions, and ISTQB certification.
