Senior Fullstack Engineer – Flutter & Node.js (Mobile)

About the role

Kpler is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to build high‑performance features for its MarineTraffic and Kpler mobile apps, serving millions of B2C users. You will work with Flutter/Dart on the front‑end and design a scalable Backend‑for‑Frontend using Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL and PostGIS, while leveraging AI‑assisted coding tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complex, production‑ready features for the MarineTraffic and Kpler apps, adhering to Clean Architecture and platform conventions (Apple HIG, Material).
• Design and evolve the mobile BFF (Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS) as a primary, scalable component.
• Act as a quality guardian: conduct code reviews, maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, contract), improve observability and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to product and UX decisions together with the PM and Designer, owning outcomes beyond code.
• Maintain and optimise the AI/LLM tooling stack (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to ensure autonomous code generation meets team standards.
• Mentor peers, support the Front‑end Chapter and enable business teams to manage their functional scopes.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience.
• Proven track record building and shipping consumer mobile applications at scale (over 1 million users).
• Strong hands‑on experience with Flutter & Dart in production.
• Solid experience with Node.js/TypeScript and GraphQL API design for high‑traffic services.
• Deep knowledge of mobile architecture, performance, testing, observability and Clean Code practices.
• Excellent understanding of Apple Human Interface Guidelines and ability to create accessible experiences.
• Product judgement: experience shaping product and UX decisions with PMs and designers.
• Professional‑level English (written and spoken).
