Senior Full Stack Software Developer - Observability

About the role

Elastic is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Streams UI team, which works on Fleet (the central management experience for Elastic Agent in Kibana) and Streams (a new tool for ingesting, organizing, parsing, enriching and retaining log data). The team is distributed, and the engineer works in the open on GitHub and in Slack.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement intuitive UI components with TypeScript, React and Node.js, integrating them with back-end services
• Run usability testing and gather user feedback to drive continuous improvement
• Own complex, loosely defined problems end-to-end, from shaping the approach to making key technical decisions
• Lead discussions on architecture and system design, considering trade-offs, backwards compatibility, performance and scale
• Set coding standards, promote reusable components, implement automated testing and deployment, and evaluate new technologies
• Review code thoroughly, give constructive feedback and look for security vulnerabilities
• Work with designers and product managers to turn mockups into functional UI components and keep the visual design consistent

Required profile

• Solid production experience with full-stack JavaScript, preferably TypeScript, with React on the front end and Node.js on the back end
• Track record of leading non-trivial projects end-to-end with real design ownership and minimal guidance
• Experience designing and launching UI components that increased user commitment
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication, enjoyment of async collaboration, and a user-focused mindset

Required skills

• TypeScript, React and Node.js
• Some Reactflow experience is a plus
• Bonus points: Elastic stack, observability tooling or log/data-ingestion pipelines; Go, Kubernetes or cloud-native development; large data-heavy interfaces with search, filtering and tables, streaming or real-time data; open-source or developer-facing platform experience; mentoring engineers or leading a small team

• Base salary of EUR 61,100 to 96,600, with no variable component
