Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Viva.com is building a pan‑European payments and banking platform and is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement and continuously improve automation, deployment and observability across its cloud‑native services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines for multiple applications using Azure DevOps, YAML templates and scripting.
• Support migration, operation and optimisation of workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and other cloud‑native platforms.
• Implement secure, scalable Infrastructure‑as‑Code solutions.
• Automate repetitive operational processes with scripting and AI‑assisted capabilities.
• Improve release management, deployment governance and production delivery practices.
• Build and extend observability in Datadog, including logs, metrics, dashboards, monitors and alerts.
• Collaborate with SRE, engineering, security and QA teams to boost reliability, incident response and performance.
• Identify opportunities for scalability, security and cloud‑cost optimisation.
• Lead technical initiatives from analysis through production rollout and handover.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience designing and operating cloud‑native infrastructure, preferably in a fintech or payments environment.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and lead complex technical projects.

Required skills

• Azure DevOps and YAML pipeline authoring.
• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) deployment and management.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools and practices.
• CI/CD automation and release management.
• Datadog observability (logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts).
• Scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and AI‑assisted automation.
