Senior DevOps Engineer – AWS & Kubernetes

About the role

We are partnering with an innovative FinTech payments provider that is building secure, scalable platforms for digital payments. As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will help evolve their cloud‑native platform, ensuring high availability and reliability for mission‑critical payment services. The role is based in Athens with a hybrid working model (one day on‑site per week).

Key responsibilities

• Operate and continuously improve production Kubernetes (EKS) environments.
• Design secure, scalable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and implement GitOps workflows using FluxCD.
• Automate infrastructure and operational tasks with Terraform, Python, Go or Bash.
• Enhance platform observability through monitoring, logging and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Support production systems, lead incident response and drive platform reliability.
• Champion security best practices across cloud and Kubernetes environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience with production Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker container orchestration.
• Strong background in AWS services such as IAM, VPC, ECR, Route53, CloudWatch, S3 and Secrets Manager.
• Hands‑on experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitOps tools like FluxCD.
• Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation languages (Python, Go, Bash).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Good understanding of Linux administration, networking, DNS, TLS and micro‑service architectures.
• Deep awareness of cloud security, IAM, RBAC and Kubernetes security best practices.
