Security Engineer

About the role

Re18 is looking for a skilled, hands‑on Security Engineer to join its Engineering team and help protect its longevity‑tech platform. You will work on securing applications, infrastructure and cloud environments that support personalized health journeys.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain security controls for applications, infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Process, prioritize and follow up on security assessment reports, coordinating remediation with stakeholders.
• Implement and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF), network segmentation and device security controls.
• Suggest and set up security monitoring, detection and alerting systems.
• Conduct and support security incident investigations, log analysis and root‑cause evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security throughout development and operations.
• Support compliance initiatives and maintain standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA.
• Perform other security‑related tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering roles.
• Hands‑on experience securing web applications, operating systems and networks.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and secure architecture principles.
• Ability to apply recommendations and mitigations directly, not just as a consultant.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Greek, both written and verbal.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
