R&D Manager (Hardware & Electronics)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead the Electronics Division of a leading international defense and high‑technology group. The role focuses on hands‑off leadership, team management, technical guidance and strategic project delivery for cutting‑edge hardware, industrial IoT, sensor technologies and ruggedized systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team of IoT, mechanical and hardware specialists, providing technical guidance and removing obstacles.
• Develop and submit R&D proposals to executive management, building business cases with product rationale, resource planning, budgeting and ROI analysis.
• Maintain a global overview of active projects, track deliverables, manage risks, resolve bottlenecks and report progress to C‑level stakeholders.
• Apply deep hardware domain knowledge to steer architectural decisions, review progress and ensure system reliability.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in hardware/electronics with proven leadership of engineering teams.
• Strong background in hardware design, development and integration (sensor or defense experience is a plus).
• Business acumen to evaluate technical ideas financially, create budgets and present ROI‑driven proposals.
• Demonstrated project‑management skills and experience communicating with senior leadership.
• Fluency in Greek and English, both written and verbal.
