QA Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our team and focus on manual quality assurance for M2Ai, our web‑based maritime situational awareness platform, while also supporting QA for other M2Intelligence software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Test new features, bug fixes and regressions against tickets and functional, UI and technical specifications.
• Design test cases covering happy paths, edge cases, invalid input and unusual user behaviour.
• Execute cross‑browser and cross‑device testing to ensure responsiveness and consistency.
• Write clear, reproducible bug reports with steps, expected vs actual results, logs, screenshots and environment details.
• Block or degrade network services to verify graceful recovery and proper error reporting.
• Connect to remote servers, review logs, inspect container status and gather diagnostic information.
• Collaborate with tech support and development to reproduce field issues and pinpoint root causes.
• Contribute to QA automation, identify manual scenarios suitable for automation and run automated tests on cloud device farms.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software QA experience, preferably on web applications.
• Ability to read specifications critically and flag gaps or ambiguities.
• Precise written communication for bug reports and test documentation.
• Self‑motivated, able to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment.
• Upper‑intermediate English (B2 CEFR) or higher.

Required skills

• Manual functional, regression, exploratory, boundary and negative testing.
• API testing with tools such as Postman.
• Browser developer tools for network traffic, console errors and API calls.
• Docker usage, including running containers and editing docker‑compose files.
• Command‑line proficiency and remote server access via SSH.
• Basic SQL for querying and modifying test data.
• Issue tracking systems (Jira, GitHub/GitLab issues).
• Version control (Git) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (desired).
• Fundamental networking concepts (ports, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, firewalls).
• CTFL certification (a plus).
