Product Introduction (PI) Field Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Product Introduction (PI) Field Engineer to join Alstom in Thessaloniki. You will ensure the safe and reliable operation of new rolling‑stock fleets during their warranty period, collaborating with operations, maintenance, engineering and supplier teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support technical activities on Alstom products during Product Introduction, commissioning, warranty and validation phases.
• Collect and report performance data to the Product Introduction Manager.
• Implement corrective and preventive maintenance actions and verify engineering changes, software updates and fleet modifications.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, conduct root‑cause analyses and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide on‑site technical support during revenue service and maintenance activities.
• Investigate vehicle faults occurring in service or depot operations.
• Assist with validation and commissioning after design changes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation and configuration control.
• Guide technicians in troubleshooting and repairs, and prepare field modifications.
• Escalate critical issues to engineering and specialist support teams while ensuring compliance with railway safety rules, company procedures and quality standards.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in product introduction or system integration within rail or transport infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in English; Greek preferred; additional European language is a plus.
