Procurement Specialist

About the role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers while monitoring performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance, ensuring timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.
• Execute purchasing and logistics strategies that optimise cost, quality and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
• Implement local sourcing plans to meet current and future business targets.
• Apply procurement standards, tools and processes to secure quality, delivery, cost and sustainability.
• Track supplier deliveries, expedite orders and mitigate supply‑chain risks to avoid delays.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, operations, warehouse and finance teams.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and report KPIs, savings, supplier performance and order status.

Required profile

• 5‑9 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain within industrial automation.
• Proven experience with strategic sourcing, supplier management and ERP‑based purchasing systems.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP, SAP Ariba or other ERP procurement platforms and Microsoft Excel, plus procurement analytics tools.
• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Economics or related field; professional certifications are a plus.
• Fluent in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
• Legal authorization to work in Greece, a valid driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
